Works like GSAK

I have been looking for software to run on my MAC for a while. I tried this to see how it would work. If you are a premium member you will like this application. You can download the PQs right from the main page. I found it is about the same as GSAK for windows. It will take a little getting used to. But overall I like it….

Wow!

I downloaded this program in May, 2012 and I will admit I didnt use it much until a couple of months ago. Now I use it daily. Its a great app. I agree with a previous reviewer that if you are a premium member this program is a must have. The smart folders are THE best thing about the app. Learn how to use them and you will use them daily.

The Best!

I’ve been using iCaching for almost a year, and it just keeps getting better and better. Every time a new challenge is published I go to iCaching to see if I already qualify; and if I don’t qualify, I switch one of the compound filters from “found” to “not found” and get a list of caches that satisfy the challenge requirements. As mentioned in other reviews, being a premium Groundspeak member provides the option for pocket queries, which iCaching imports flawlessly on demand. I especially like the feature that allows me to load the GPSr with only those puzzle caches that I’ve solved, and it even transfers any notes I’ve created on the iCaching page to my Garmin 62s. Creating custom gpx files is easy, and very useful in other mapping applications. Don’t be deterred by the few negative reviews for the app, those reviewers should have just posted a DNF and tried again later.

not happy

Cannot get it to export to my gps. No real help on the icaching support site.

Wow - I would LOVE it but...

wow I would love this app but I am having so many issues with it. First, it crashes quite frequently. Almost always when the program is doing something like updating caches. Second, it Constantly imports My finds adding duplicates. I have to constantly delete the entries and HOPE it doesnt do it again. Third, If I try to import a GPX file with more than 3 it most definitely crashes every time. Every other time with 2 or less. I wish you could back up databases to dropbox because Ive had to delete mine so many times its not worth it. Any possible way I could get the previous version instead of this one?!?! I love the interface and whatnot, just not the new feature of crashes. ;)

FINALLY! For OSX

I saw the reviews, downloaded and have played with this for three day. We finally were able to slice and dice a "my finds query" to enable logging a challenge that we found quite awhile ago. Emailed the devloper with a question and had an answer in less than a day. From the feedback we can only see this App growing to rival GSAK. Finally a great tool on the Mac for Geocaching! Well done.

Great Geocache management tool

I started using iCaching a few weeks ago (been a geocacher for 5 five years and used GSAK until a few weeks ago, when I finally got tired of booting into Windows from the Mac and searched for an alternative). I think iCaching is a great tool to use. It has an easy to understand interface and the smart folders have many options for sorting your caches. I do think there are some features that can be added (or maybe I haven’t really learned how to do everything yet), but this app is definitely off to a great start! I find the price to be very reasonable for such a robust app. I’m a fan!

Just What I’ve Been Needing

I’ve used GSAK for years and when I went to a mac the only thing I missed about my PC was GSAK!! So happy when I finally found this after trying several other programs (a waste of time) This is just what I needed. It’s awesome, especially since my gps is older. Great job.

Great app!

I don’t usually write app reviews, but I like this one so much and want to encourage the developers to keep up the good work! I use iCaching to keep track of caches I’ve logged and solved, useful when planning a day of caching. When I travel and am uncertain about internet connectivity I keep a database in iCaching which I can always get to. The latest version (4.40) is the most stable yet and works great. TFTA!

Great app!

I wish I had known about this one sooner! I stumbled across this one on a geocaching Facebook page. It’s not as versatile as GSAK but definitely easier to use. Very intuitive with nice map views, easy download/transfer of PQ’s, easy to modify coords. Really well done! It would be nice if it had a statistics compiler like GSAK but that can be a wish list item :)

Love it

I’ve been using this app for over a year, and love it…Great support, constant updating, in short, a great tool for Mac Geocachers

Really enjoy this program.

I really enjoy this program for organizing my geocaches. Customer Service/Support is also very helpful and timely in their responses. I would recommend this application to any and all Apple geocachers.

A Bend Oregon Cacher

I have been caching for a few years now and both my wife and I love working on challenges and unusual caches. This APP makes it so easy to slice and dice your data and export as needed to fulfill the CO requirements. I love the folders and especially the smart folders that automatically update as you import fresh data. Then there is the ability to push the data to your GPS device, which makes it very easy to be ready to go on a moments notice. All in all this is a great APP that is owned by a very responsive developer. I highly recommend it to any MAC user. DJKFISHER

Wow !

I switched over to a Mac several years ago and had two choices for a full featured caching program. Being cheap , I opted for the free program and have had troubles loading my pocket queries to our 2 Garmin GPSmap 60CSx’s every time I used it. Getting ready for our 6 day Labor Day camping trip I decided to buy iCaching. WOW ! It is much easier than my old Windows program and I was up and running in 5 minutes. It is worth the price !

Fantastic App

I needed an app to manage the geocaches on my new Garmin 64s. The GPS came preloaded with 250K caches but I soon learned that many for my state missing. So I decide just to load caches for two states. After an initial download of caches, I am now able to manage the caches. Each week I can run a query for new caches and iCaching automatically gets the query. Very easy to load an updated file each week to my GPS. I had some duplicate logs and it was very easy to locate those and correct them. I highly recomment this app for Mac users. Easy to use. Nice interface. No problems or issues using it.
